Sarah- Friday, July 18th

I was feeling guilty for not feelin' it last night so Chris convinced me that I would get up early this morning and run since he was working from home. Lace 'em up! The blister on my achilles is finally healed so the sneaks should feel OK. I didn't get out of the house until after 7 and it was getting hot already. I did the original Wal-Mart loop and have decided it just sucks to run it in that direction. I don't know why. The hills seem the same either way. In fact, the other way there's a long, slow uphill at the end but it just seems better. Maybe b/c there's more traffic on the long, slow uphill so I'm determined not to look wimpy. I brought the watch and was timing it but it was very defeating b/c I didn't know the mileage and kept wondering how slow I was going (yes, like that). Ugh. I think I ran slower checking the time over and over and feeling like the watch was fast. Not doing that again unless I know the mile markers. I can check the time on the ipod if I'm dying to know what time it is but that stop watch really took the enjoyment out of it for me.

I was doing the math when I got back trying to figure out if I kept that pace (which I sure couldn't) for 26.2 miles if I would make it in under 5 hours. This is not the mindset I want...

It's hard not to think about times alot when using a watch though don't you think? Make a few runs watch-less and see if you enjoy them more/they help with the mindset
